Abstract

Self-citation that is the practice of referencing of own previously published works in any article or research work is of common occurrence in the world of scholarly publications. It is a question of debate- whether self-citations should be included or not, but it varies from discipline to discipline. However, more commonly self-citing to a certain extent is a legitimate practice. This paper attempts to find out self – citation patterns among the library and information professionals who contributed to Granthalya Vigyan that is the only long survived Hindi journal of Library & Information Science by taking its 2016-2020 published issues into consideration.
